Back Strengthening Exercises

1. Cat-Cow Stretch

Cat-Cow Stretch

Slowly alternate between spinal arching and dipping to mobilize the back.

Hold 5s • 10 Reps

2. Bird-Dog

Bird-Dog

Extend opposite arm and leg while maintaining a level neutral spine.

Hold 10s • 10 Reps

3. Superman

Superman

Lie prone and lift arms and legs to contract the posterior muscles.

Hold 5s • 10 Reps

4. Lower Back Extensions

Lower Back Extensions

Lift upper chest off the ground using back strength, hands on hips.

Hold 5s • 10 Reps

5. Pelvic Tilts

Pelvic Tilts

Press lower back flat against the floor to engage lower abdominals.

Hold 5s • 10-15 Reps

6. Glute Bridges

Glute Bridges

Lift hips off the floor until knees and shoulders form a straight line.

Hold 10s • 10-15 Reps

7. Prone Cobra

Prone Cobra

Lying face down, lift chest and rotate arms to squeeze shoulder blades.

Hold 30 Seconds

8. Plank

Static forearm hold keeping body in a straight alignment to build core endurance.

Hold 30-60 Seconds

9. Side Plank

Side Plank

Prop torso up on a single forearm laterally to target back obliques.

Hold 10-15s • 3 Reps

10. Dead Bug

Dead Bug

Supine alternative leg/arm extensions keeping back flat against floor.

Perform 30 Seconds
